Building Spiritual Powers Against Troubled Times
Building Spiritual Powers Against Troubled Times – deepen your spiritual life and be ready for anything.
Swami Kriyananda gave many talks that have this same title on different dates, in different locations. The main message is to become stronger spiritually. If you practice the presence of God in daily life, when hard times come it won’t be so difficult to withstand them.
He says, “I think now is the time to get serious with your life outwardly as well as inwardly.” When you develop inward attunement to God, you will become stronger and things will somehow work out for the best. Please take my words seriously.
Here are a few key points from the talk:
When people forget God, they go further into darkness and negativity. Darkness is not an absolute. We can always turn to the light. Find your inner Light reflected by God’s presence within.
Many people base their values, opinions and morale on what is popular and on other people’s opinions.
The only protection against negativity is to rely on your inner power to be positive and to practice God’s presence.
The more we meditate, the more the inner light can shine out from us. When you radiate light, light will be reflected back to you. Meditation is the most practical thing we can do to help ourselves and others.
When we act according to our true nature we will be loving, respectful and forgiving.
Yogananda said, “A saint is a sinner who never gave up.” Forget the past and understand that you have been given a job of attaining victory toward a positive goal.
Society has become too materialistic and Yogananda said that God is going to perform an operation. Become strong in your spiritual life to withstand hard times.
The goal of life is to understand that there is a reality that is blissful, secure and can’t be touched by anything because it is ever-perfect, ever-Light and ever-wise.
When you develop attunement with the divine, you will know on a deep level that God will take care of you.
Learn to be a cause rather than an effect. Radiate positive energy rather than just taking what the world gives you, sunshine and laughter or rain and tears.
Things that come to us are a reflection of our karma. Karma expresses itself through our thoughts. When we are judgmental or think negative thoughts, we attract negativity.
When you radiate light and think positive thoughts, that energy will help you and those close to you.
You owe it to yourself and others, to meditate and find calmness and peace within.
